La journée avait bien commencé pour le jeune Jean-Marc Maultraix et sa fiancée Julie Desmourons.
Jour de liesse puisqu'ils se mariaient aujourd'hui. Après la cérémonie célébrée devant Monsieur l'Abbé Martin en l'église Sainte-Eutrope de ce charmant village qu'est Rocheblanche sur Luyne, après avoir posé sur la Place de l'église sous une pluie de riz (charmante tradition qui régale les pigeons et les moineaux) ils se sont retrouvés devant l'officier d'état civil, Monsieur le Maire de Rocheblanche, Monsieur Desmoulins.
Après avoir offert le traditionnel vin d'honneur à leurs amis et parents, les jeunes époux se sont rendus en convoi klaxonnant de leur joie de vivre chez Monsieur Eymard dont l'Auberge du Cheval Blanc a une réputation qui dépasse largement les limites de la région ( réservations au 02 5123 4561 ).
Le buffet y fut grandiose comme à l'accoutumée chez Monsieur Eymard et la joyeuse assemblée s'apprêtait à procéder à l'émouvante mise aux enchères de la jarretière de la mariée.
Julie s'excusa alors pour "se refaire une beauté". Je vous rassure tout de suite, il n'en était pas vraiment besoin tant le minois de notre charmante Julie vous fait regretter de pas être l'heureux marié.
Mais hélas, Julie ne devait pas reparaître pour dévoiler sa jarretière pudiquement cachée par une robe magnifique achetée aux Etablissements Pour le Mariage, rue de la source à Saint-Arnaud.
Malgré de longues recherches menées tout d'abord par les convives, puis par la Gendarmerie de Saint-Arnaud, prévenue presqu'aussitôt, Julie n'a pas pu être retrouvée.
Le mystère demeure sur sa disparition qui suscite déjà les plus infâmes rumeurs.
Nous espérons vivement que les forces de l'ordre dissiperont rapidement notre inquiétude et celle du jeune marié qui attend impatiemment sa jeune épousée. 

Mystery disappearance of young bride

 It was the most beautiful day of their lives.  Jean-Marc Maultraix and Julie Desmourons stepped out of the church with a light step and full hearts having joined their lives together in holy matrimony.  The marriage had received the blessing of Father Martin in the Sainte-Eutrope church at the heart of the charming village of Rocheblanche on Luyne.  The wedding photo had been taken in front of the church under a hail of rice (a joy for the couple as well as the wild birds that arrived for the unexpected feast) and the civil ceremony had been celebrated by the Mayor of Rocheblanche, Mr Desmoulins.
After having toasted the event with family and friends, the young couple and their guests went joyously on to the Cheval Blanc Auberge, over which Mr Eymard reigns with pleasure and whose excellent reputation is known far and wide (reservations can be made directly by telephone at 02 5123 4561).  
The buffet was magnificent, as to be expected when organised by Mr Eymard, and the happy group was getting ready for some serious dancing.  Julie, wanting to give of her best for the first dance with her new husband, slipped out to « powder her nose », a gesture, we may assure you, quite unnecessary as her beauty knew no bounds.  Alas, Julie has not been seen since.  Still wearing her splendid wedding gown (bought at Weddings Galore,, Saint Arnaud) She closed the door behind her, the door which would shortly reveal only her absence.
Despite a long search led at first by the wedding guests and then by the local police force, Julie has not been found.
Her disappearance remains a total mystery and has already given rise to terrible rumours.  We sincerely hope that the police will shortly be able to calm our fears and those of the young groom impatiently awaiting the return of his new bride.
